According to the Mumbai police, the films were shot in rented apartments or bungalows in Mumbai. Actresses were allegedly forced to perform nude scenes that varied from the scripts given to them. Those who rejected were allegedly threatened or asked to cover the costs of production. The videos were then published to subscription-based apps, where customers paid to watch the content.

The ED’s investigation initially revealed that in February 2019, Kundra established a company called Arms Prime Media Limited, which developed an app named Hotshots. This app was later sold to a UK-based company called Kenrin, headed by Pradeep Bakshi, Kundra’s brother-in-law.

For maintaining the Hotshots app, Kundra’s company, Viaan Industries, collaborated with Kenrin. Crores of rupees were transferred to 13 bank accounts linked to Viaan Industries. The Hotshots app allegedly served as a platform for streaming pornographic films produced in India. The subscription fees generated through this app were funnelled through Viaan Industries, with funds circulating through the UK.
