After the third T20I match against Australia, fans slam the batter, saying, “Drop Babar Azam, save Pakistan cricket.”

On Monday, November 18, at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart, Pakistan played Australia in the third and final Twenty20 International. Babar Azam scored 41 runs off 28 balls with four fours.

Babar appeared to be out of form as he only managed six runs in Sydney and Brisbane. However, after leading his team in scoring in the Twenty20 International match against Australia, the former captain of Pakistan got back to his best.

Pakistan’s side was bowled out for 117 in 18.1 overs despite Babar’s performance. It appeared that Pakistan would approach the 180-run milestone when Babar and Haseebullah Khan put on 44 runs for the second wicket, but they experienced a severe batting collapse and were unable to complete 20 overs.

With 52 balls remaining in their innings, Marcus Stoinis then came out on fire and assisted the Australians in chasing down the mark. As the Australians easily won in 11.2 overs, Stoinis remained undefeated at 61 off 27 balls with five fours and as many sixes.

Meanwhile, Babar was criticized by fans for his lack of influence. To demonstrate what it means to play an impacting innings, they used Stoinis’ knock as an example. Additionally, some supporters suggested that Aaqib Javed bench Babar from the T20I squad.

For those who don’t know, Javed was just announced as the Pakistan men’s team’s temporary white-ball coach until the Champions Trophy the next year.

One of the fans wrote, “Aaqib Javed is the only man who can save Pakistan Cricket from going into the Dark Ages. Drop Babar Azam as he’s a bad omen for Pakistan cricket.”

“Aqib Javed was right to drop Babar Azam from Tests. His decision to drop Babar from T20Is would also be supported. Drop #BabarAzam and save Pakistan Cricket,” another fan wrote.
