Honda, Nissan announce merger. To become world’s 3rd largest carmaker

Japanese auto majors Honda Motor Company and Nissan Motor Company today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for business integration, which will see the standardisation of vehicle platforms and electrification initiatives, among others.

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation is also in talks to join the Honda-Nissan alliance.The integration of Honda and Nissan will create the third-largest carmaker in the world in terms of volume, according to the companies.

Japan’s Toyota Motor Corporation and Suzuki Motor Corporation already have an alliance under which they collaborate in diverse areas, including the production and mutual supply of vehicles, and the spread of electrified vehicles.UAE launches winter drive for safety at petrol stations
