IND U19 vs MAS U19: Vaibhav Suryavanshi Capitalises On Red-Hot Form, Smashes 26-ball 50 Against Malaysia

IND U19 vs MAS U19: Vaibhav Suryavanshi produced another impressive performance with the bat in the ongoing ACC Men’s U-19 Asia Cup 2025 as he played a fiery knock for India against Malaysia in match 10 at the Sevens Stadium in Dubai on Tuesday.
He scored an incredible half-century after India were put into bat first.
Suryavanshi has been in incredible form lately and has continued his great touch in the tournament. His effort provided India with a promising start. India lost an early wicket as Ayush Mhatre was dismissed for just 14 runs, N Sathnakumaran in the second over of the match. Vaibhav and Mhatre stitched a 21-run opening stand before Malaysia found the first breakthrough.
IND U19 vs MAS U19:Suryavanshi kept his attack going and smashed Sathnakumaran for a four and a couple of sixes in the fourth over. After a 26-run stand between Vaibhav and Vihaan Malhotra for the second wicket, the latter was dismissed for 7 runs by Muhammad Akram. Malaysia bowled a couple of great overs in between before Vaibhav unleashed an attack again and hit for a few more boundaries. He reached his fifty in just 25 balls, completing the milestone in the 11th over.
He played an outstanding knock of 50 runs in 26 balls on the back of five fours and three sixes before he was dismissed by Akram in the 11th over. He set the tournament on fire with a memorable effort in the first match against the UAE. The 14-year-old batting sensation smashed multiple records in the tournament opener and played a monumental knock of 171 runs in 95 balls on the back of nine fours and 14 sixes.
Vaibhav first gained huge limelight for his batting masterclass in the IPL 2025, while playing for the Rajasthan Royals. While Vaibhav continues to impress at this young age, his childhood coach Manish Ojha believes that the youngster is ready for international cricket. He wants Vaibhav to be considered for India’s T20I squad for the upcoming assignments.
“In my opinion, he’s absolutely ready, at least for the Indian T20 team. Look at the IPL; most bowlers he faced were international bowlers, and the rest were top domestic bowlers. He was executing his shots beautifully against them. It’s up to the BCCI to decide, but in my view, he’s ready for T20Is and even ODIs. Given the way he’s playing, he should be given a chance sooner rather than later. It would be a record for India and a huge encouragement for a young player,” Ojha told India Today.
