Jaat box office Day 12: Sunny Deol’s film Rs 22 crore away from Rs 100 crore

Jaat box office Day 12:Actor Sunny Deol’s ‘Jaat’ is slowly inching towards the benchmark of Rs 100 crore nett at the box office. After its 13-day run, the film has neared Rs 80 crore nett.

The Gopichand Malineni directorial collected Rs 2 crore nett on its second Tuesday, taking the collection to Rs 78.25 crore nett, reported the trade website Sacnilk.

‘Jaat’ has seen a visible drop in its collection in the second week. However, that was expected considering ‘Kesari Chapter 2’ hit the screens last weekend, and took over the theatres with positive reviews.

  • Week 1: Rs 61.65 crore
  • Friday: Rs 4 crore
  • Saturday: Rs 3.75 crore
  • Sunday: Rs 5 crore
  • Monday: Rs 1.85 crore
  • Tuesday: Rs 2 crore
  • Total: Rs 78.25 crore

The Akshay Kumar starrersaw good traction on Sunday, earning Rs 12 crore nett. However, the collections dipped to more than half on its first Monday. Tuesday remained steady, and the film earned as much as it earned on Monday. After five days at the ticket window, the film now stands at around Rs 38.75 crore nett.

Both ‘Jaat’ and ‘Kesari 2’ have now got two more days to perform uninterrupted. Emraan Hashmi’s ‘Ground Zero’ and Pratik Gandhi’s ‘Phule’ will be hitting the screens this weekend, and that will further hamper the smooth run of the two existing films at the box office.

It will now be interesting to see how ‘Jaat’ will manage to cross the benchmark of Rs 100 crore from here.
