‘Not good enough’: Trump tells Trudeau over call on efforts to curb fentanyl flow into US

US President Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke for about 50 minutes on Wednesday and discussed fentanyl smuggling and trade, said a Canadian source directly familiar with the conversation.
Teams from both nations will continue to hold discussions on Wednesday, said the source, who did not give details.US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Vice President J D Vance were also on the call, the source said.
Trump later said he spoke to Canadian PM Trudeau about tariffs on Wednesday and told Trudeau he was not convinced by Ottawa’s efforts to curb the flow of fentanyl into the United States.
“I told him that many people have died from Fentanyl that came through the Borders of Canada and Mexico, and nothing has convinced me that it has stopped. He said that it’s gotten better, but I said, ‘That’s not good enough.'” Trump said in a post on Truth Social, adding the call ended in a “somewhat” friendly manner.
