Tata Motors Delivers Strong Sales Performance in Q3FY25

New Delhi: Tata Motors reported robust sales figures for the third quarter of the fiscal year 2025 (Q3FY25), surpassing the previous year’s performance.The company sold a total of 235,599 vehicles across domestic and international markets, marginally exceeding the 234,981 units sold in Q3FY24.

Domestic sales for Q3FY25 remained largely stable compared to the same period last year, reaching 230,684 units, a slight increase from 229,610 units in Q3FY24. December 2024 saw a marginal 1% increase in domestic sales, reaching 76,599 units compared to 76,138 units in December 2023.Tata Motors

In the Commercial Vehicles (CV) segment, domestic sales declined by 1% in Q3FY25, reaching 95,770 units. The Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCV) category experienced a 9% year-over-year (YoY) decline due to limited growth in end-use sectors. However, the segment showed strong sequential growth compared to the previous quarter, driven by post-monsoon construction and mining activities and festive season demand.

The Intermediate and Light Commercial Vehicles (ILMCV) segment witnessed a 3% growth, with the Multi-Utility Vehicles (MCV) segment posting a strong 40% YoY increase. The Passenger Carrier segment registered an impressive 30% growth, driven by demand from state transport undertakings and the travel sector.Tata Motors

The Passenger Vehicles (PV) segment also exhibited positive growth in Q3FY25, with total domestic sales reaching 139,829 units, a 1% increase compared to Q3FY24. Electric vehicle (EV) sales were particularly strong, registering a 6% YoY rise, totaling 16,119 units. Tata Motors’ SUV range, including the Punch and Nexon, continued to perform exceptionally well, with the Punch solidifying its position as India’s highest-selling car in 2024.

Looking ahead, Tata Motors remains optimistic about continued growth, driven by new product launches, innovative technologies, and a robust multi-powertrain strategy.
