Terror Attack Plot Suspected, Security Agencies Issue High Alert in Delhi
LeT Allegedly Planning IED Strikes in Crowded and Religious Areas

New Delhi: Security agencies have issued a high alert in the national capital following intelligence inputs about a possible terror attack plot. According to sources, the Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) is allegedly planning a major attack in Delhi using IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices).
Intelligence reports suggest that the group may target crowded marketplaces and religious sites in the city. Specific concerns have been raised about Old Delhi, particularly the busy Chandni Chowk area, where temples could be potential targets.
The report further indicates that LeT operatives may have already conspired to carry out explosions in temple areas of Chandni Chowk. Security has been tightened across sensitive locations, especially around the Red Fort and surrounding areas, which witness heavy daily footfall.
According to intelligence inputs, the alleged plot may have been planned after a bomb blast at a mosque in Islamabad on February 6, 2026. Agencies suspect that following the incident, the terror group may be attempting to orchestrate a major strike in India.
Security forces are maintaining heightened vigilance, and additional deployment has been made at key religious and public locations across the capital as a precautionary measure.
