‘Lines of Legacy’: KKR Unveils New Jersey Ahead of IPL 2026

Kolkata: Three-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders have launched their new jersey ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, designed around the theme “Lines of Legacy.”

At the heart of this design are the defining moments that have shaped KKR’s journey over the years. From the memorable opening night of 2008, when Brendon McCullum smashed an explosive 158*, to Rinku Singh hitting five consecutive sixes in a thrilling final-over finish, KKR has delivered numerous moments that are now etched in IPL history.

Each memorable moment forms a “line” in the franchise’s star-studded story. When combined, these lines create the letters K-K-R in the style of abstract linear art.

KKR stated,

“This season, these lines are not just being remembered—they are woven into the jersey itself, allowing fans to wear a piece of the team’s story.”

Speaking at the jersey launch, Night Riders Sports CEO Venky Mysore said,

“‘Lines of Legacy’ captures the essence of KKR’s glorious history and celebrates the journey of the team over the past few years. Each line represents a key moment of outstanding performance, reflecting the energy and spirit that define our identity. We are proud of the legacy we have created, and we aim to carry it forward into the upcoming season while creating more memorable moments for our fans.”

According to the first 20 matches released by the BCCI, KKR will begin their campaign on March 29 with an away match against five-time champions Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium.

Their first home match at the historic Eden Gardens will be on April 2 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Thousands of fans are expected to fill the stadium in purple jerseys to cheer for the team.

KKR’s third match will be on April 6 at Eden Gardens against the 2025 IPL runners-up Punjab Kings, followed by another home clash on April 9 against Lucknow Super Giants.

KKR strengthened their squad during the IPL 2026 auction, signing key players such as Cameron GreenMathisha Pathirana, and Finn Allen, along with West Indies all-rounder Rovman Powell to fill the gap left by Andre Russell.
