Former Olympian Sushil Kumar has got bail in Sagar Dhankhar murder case and he will be able to come out after being locked in Tihar Jail for about 4 years. The High Court has granted him bail on a bond of 50 thousand and the guarantee of sureties of the same amount. Saddened by this, Sagar’s family said that they will seek refuge in the Supreme Court. Sushil Kumar is accused of attacking Sagar and his two friends in the parking lot of Chhatrasal Stadium in Delhi in 2021.
Sushil Kumar has won two Olympic medals for the country and is the first Indian to win two consecutive medals in the Olympics. Regarding the bail and Sushil Kumar’s release, Sagar’s father Ashok Kumar has said that the approval of bail is wrong. Sushil Kumar has been continuously pressurizing us. When he was in jail, his relatives who are in the Panchayat; kept threatening him and now he will openly threaten the witnesses.
Parents allege, the main witness changed his statement due to fear of Sushil
He said that when Sushil Kumar came out on parole, he threatened the main witness Jai Bhagwan alias Sonu and got two separate cases registered against him, due to which Sonu changed his statement in the court. After this, Sushil Kumar got the cases against Sonu withdrawn.
The murderer should be punished, we are wandering, but
Sagar’s mother Savita said that we are going around the court for justice; but we and other witnesses are getting threats. Wrong is happening to us but we will go to the Supreme Court. My son was murdered and the murderer should be punished. We will go to court and demand the death penalty. Let us tell you that on May 4, 2021, a wrestler named Sagar Dhankhar, a resident of Sonipat, was beaten to death at the Chhatrasal Stadium in Delhi. A video of this entire case also went viral on social media. After this, Delhi Police arrested wrestler Sushil Kumar and some of his associates.
