T20 World Cup: Captain Visits Temple Ahead of Final

Ahmedabad: The final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 between India national cricket team and New Zealand national cricket team will be played on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Ahead of the much-anticipated clash, India captain Suryakumar Yadav, along with Hardik Pandya and head coach Gautam Gambhir, visited the Hanuman temple located inside the Narendra Modi Stadium campus to offer prayers.
Across the country, fans have been praying for India’s victory. In Prayagraj, Harihar Aarti Samiti performed a special Ganga Aarti at the Sangam, seeking blessings for Team India. During the ceremony, fans were seen holding posters of Indian cricketers and cheering for the team.
Ahmedabad is hosting this title clash, and the excitement among fans is palpable. Speaking to IANS, a fan said, “I am 100 percent confident that India will win this match. In 2023 during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 (India vs Australia), the atmosphere was similar, but for some reason India couldn’t win. This time, we will definitely lift the trophy.”
Another fan expressed similar optimism about the final, saying, “Sunday’s match is going to be very exciting. Of course, this World Cup belongs to us. We will win our second consecutive T20 World Cup. Our players will showcase their brilliance in this match.”
T20 World CupIndia has lost only one match in the tournament so far. Team India secured a place in the final after defeating the England national cricket team by seven runs in the semifinal. On the other hand, New Zealand national cricket team lost two matches in the tournament, while one game was abandoned due to rain. The Kiwi side stormed into the final after thrashing the South Africa national cricket team by nine wickets in the semifinal.
