Gujarat Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday stated that several districts of Gujarat are likely to receive rainfall till June 3. The weather department stated that the rainfall will reduce the temperature by one to three degrees Celsius, providing major relief from the scorching heat.
The IMD also stated that these districts will receive thunderstorms and gusty winds for the next few days. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
Gujarat Weather Update:While providing details, the weather department stated that light to heavy rainfall is expected in some areas of South Gujarat, Saurashtra, Kutch, and North Gujarat between May 30 and June 3. It further stated that several districts, including Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Rajkot, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir-Somnath, Junagadh, Porbandar, and Kutch, are likely to receive light to moderate rain in the next few days.
Gujarat Weather Update:The weather department further stated that rainfall is also expected in Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Kheda, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, and Vadodara. The IMD stated that the formation of a low-pressure area in the Arabian Sea and cyclonic activity are the major reasons behind the weather change, adding that there is a possibility of heavy rains in most parts of the state between May 30 and 31, which is a part of the pre-monsoon activity before the monsoon. Apart from this, the possibility of a cyclone forming between Mumbai and Goa can also increase the intensity of the rains.
Gujarat Weather Update:The weather department stated that while the rain will provide relief from the heat, it can also damage the crops. It advised fishermen not to venture into the sea, as the wind speed may reach 50-70 kmph.
