Kia Indiaunveiled their second compact SUV, the Syros on December 19to take on theMaruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra 3XO and the Skoda Kylaq.
The Syros will also rival mid-size SUVs in terms of size, targeting SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and Honda Elevate.
Bookings for the Kia Syros will commence from January 3, 2025, with customer deliveries starting from early February 2025. The Kia Syros isexpected to be pricedbetween Rs 9-17 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
The variants will include four standard trims and 2 option trims — HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, and HTX+, HTX+(O).
TheSyros stands outfrom other models in the segment with its unique tall-boy design, giving it a distinct and eye-catching look, the Syros is packed with features.
The Kia Syros offers two engine options borrowed fromthe Kia Sonet: a Smartstream 1.0-litre T-GDi petrol engine (120PS/172Nm) and a 1.5-litre CRDi VGT diesel engine (116PS/250Nm). Transmission choices include a 6-speed MT and a 7-speed DCT for the petrol variant, while the diesel variant comes with a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AT.
The Syros is builton the reinforced K1 platform and embodies the carmaker’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy. At the front, it features Kia’s signature starmap LED lighting for the headlamps and DRLs, along with the distinctive digital tiger face grille. The rear is adorned with L-shaped LED taillamps, while muscular wheel arches enhance its bold look, complemented by 17-inch crystal-cut alloy wheels. Additional highlights include flush door handles and puddle lamps with Kia logo projection.
With a wheelbase of 2,550mm, special emphasis has been placed on enhancing comfort in the second row, which features segment-first sliding and reclining 60:40 split seats. Additionally, both the first and second rows offer ventilated seating, another segment-first feature.
Inside the cabin, the Syros is packed with premium features, including a 30-inch trinity panoramic display panel, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a connected car navigation cockpit, alloy pedals, 64-color ambient mood lighting, a four-way powered driver’s seat, a Harman Kardon eight-speaker sound system, a wireless charger, and adual-pane panoramic sunroof.
The Syros comes equipped with 20 standard safety features, including electronic stability control, hill start assist control, six airbags, vehicle stability management, and an electric parking brake with auto hold. Additionally, Kia Connect 2.0 offers advanced features such as SOS emergency support, real-time diagnostics, and stolen vehicle tracking.
The Kia Syros is equipped with ADAS Level 2, featuring 16 advanced autonomous capabilities, including forward collision avoidance assist, lane keep assist, a 360-degree camera with a blind view monitor, and smart cruise control with stop-and-go functionality.
