PM Modi Takes Potshot At Mamata Govt Over Kolkata College Rape: ‘Those Shouting Ma, Mati, Manush..’

The Prime Minister on Friday took a potshot at Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) government in West Bengal over rising rape cases, adding that efforts have been made by the TMC to shield the perpetrators.
The Prime Minister further said that people in West Bengal are now turning towards the BJP with hope.
“The mistreatment of women by a party that preaches the values of Maa, Mati, and Manush deeply pains and angers me. It is disheartening to witness such actions occurring on the very land of Kadambini Ganguly, India’s first female western-trained medical doctor,” PM Modi said at a rally in Durgapur.
“Injustice is happening with the daughters in West Bengal, under the rule of the TMC government…Hospitals are also not safe for the daughters in West Bengal…TMC shielded the criminals in the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital rape-murder incident. The nation did not recover from this incident, and in another college, an atrocity was committed on a daughter and in this case, the accused has a connection with the TMC,” the Prime Minister added.
PM Modi also slammed the TMC government over increasing incidents of crime and poor law and order in the state.
“TMC is against investment and job creation in West Bengal. Riots like Murshidabad happen in West Bengal and the police take unilateral action. There is no ray of justice in West Bengal… The state government cannot protect the lives of the people of the state,” PM Modi said, as quoted by news agency ANI.
