Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan Departs for Sri Lanka on Two-Day Official Visit

Delhi: Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan departed for Sri Lanka this morning (April 19) on a two-day official visit. The trip is being seen as significant for strengthening ties between the two nations, especially as this is his first visit to Sri Lanka after assuming office and he hails from Tamil Nadu.

The visit is expected to mark an important step in enhancing bilateral relations between the two South Asian neighbors. During his stay, the Vice President will hold high-level talks on Sunday with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya.

He is also scheduled to meet Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa and leaders from various political parties. In addition to these meetings, the Vice President will interact with representatives of Tamil communities from Sri Lanka’s northern, eastern, and hill regions.

The visit of Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan has raised expectations of deeper engagement and cooperation between India and Sri Lanka.
