Gaggal/Dharamshala: Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama returned to Dharamshala on Friday after completing a two-month visit to southern India, drawing an emotional and grand welcome from followers.

The revered leader arrived in the morning aboard an IndiGo flight at Gaggal Airport, where hundreds of members of the Tibetan community, along with foreign devotees, gathered to greet him. Many were dressed in traditional attire and offered prayers and ceremonial welcomes upon his arrival.

Amid heavy security arrangements, the Dalai Lama was escorted from the airport to his residence in McLeod Ganj, the headquarters of the Tibetan government-in-exile.

The atmosphere at the airport was filled with devotion and excitement as followers expressed joy over his safe return. His visit to southern India reportedly included religious teachings and spiritual engagements attended by thousands of devotees.

With his return to Dharamshala, preparations are expected to begin soon for upcoming spiritual programs and public teachings at his residence in McLeod Ganj.
