‘Earlier Investors Were Afraid…’: CM Yogi Targets Opposition, Highlights Transformation in Uttar Pradesh

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday took a sharp dig at the opposition, stating that nearly nine years ago, Uttar Pradesh lacked both clear intent and policy, which made investors hesitant.
Speaking at an event in Lucknow, CM Yogi, along with Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, flagged off the one-millionth commercial vehicle unit produced at the Tata Motors plant.
“A Launchpad for Industrial Revolution”
Addressing the gathering, CM Yogi described the occasion as more than just an industrial milestone. He said it represents a “launchpad” for a historic transformation that will help position Uttar Pradesh as a global manufacturing hub.
“Earlier There Was an Identity Crisis”
Reflecting on the past, the Chief Minister said that 8–9 years ago, the state faced multiple challenges, including poor connectivity, law-and-order issues, and a lack of clear governance.
“There was an identity crisis. Roads were in such poor condition that it was hard to tell whether it was a road or a pothole. There was no sense of security, no clear intent, and no policy. As a result, investors were afraid to invest,” he said.
He added that under the leadership of Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh has witnessed significant improvements in infrastructure and security, creating a favorable investment environment.
Focus on Infrastructure Growth
CM Yogi also highlighted that the nearly 600-km-long Ganga Expressway is set to be inaugurated soon by the Prime Minister. Once completed, Uttar Pradesh’s share in the country’s total expressway network will reach around 60%.
Congratulates Tata Motors
Praising the journey of Tata Motors, he said that over the past 34 years, the plant has translated new ideas, investments, and vision into reality. He extended his congratulations to the entire Tata Motors family for achieving the milestone.
