After releasing iOS 18.1 in October, Apple has been working on the next wave of Apple Intelligence and will finally release the features by the end of this week.
The iOS 18.2 will bring several powerful and advanced AI features, making the iPhones even more user-friendly. That being said, we knowApple is running latecompared to its competition. For instance, before Apple could introduce a stable version of Genmoji, Google released anarray of new featuresincluding the Emoji Kitchen feature that helps you create a new emoticon with the help of existing ones. However, it is still exciting to see how the Apple Intelligence features will turn out in iPhones and other Apple products.
Who will be able to use it? Apple Intelligence requires iPhone 15 Pro models or iPhone 16, an iPad with an M-series or A17 Pro chip, or a Mac with an M-series chip. Apple’s Apple Intelligence now supports additional localised English dialects, including those for Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, Ireland, and the UK, alongside US English. This means, Apple Intelligence will take its sweet time to arrive in India. As the iOS 18.2 launch is just around the corner, let’s look at what Apple Intelligence features will debut with it.
iOS 18.2: Apple Intelligence features
Image Playground app: This app allows users to generate images based on prompts. Users can either enter their own descriptions or use Apple’s built-in suggestions for costumes, locations, and items. The app can even draw inspiration from content in your Messages or Notes app. It offers the ability to create characters resembling friends or family, with the option to upload a photo as a reference. Image Playground creations are displayed with previews, and users can track changes with a history feature to undo any adjustments. While the app focuses on animation or illustration styles rather than photorealism, it is also integrated into Messages.iOS 18.2
Image Wand: An additional feature, Image Wand, is available within the Notes app. With Image Wand, users can sketch roughly with the Apple Pencil or highlight specific words in a note to generate related images.
Genmoji: It allows users to create custom emoji characters based on descriptions or phrases. Like the Image Playground, Genmoji can be made to resemble friends and family using photos from the People album. Alternatively, users can create characters from basic elements and choose from multiple suggestions. Genmoji can be made using the emoji keyboard.
ChatGPT: Apple has also integrated Siri with ChatGPT for certain requests. With user consent, when Siri cannot answer a query, it will hand the request to ChatGPT, and the response will be delivered via Siri. ChatGPT can assist with content creation, including text and images, and does not require an account. Apple and OpenAI ensure that requests are not stored.iOS 18.2
Visual Intelligence: It is a feature available on iPhone 16, which provides contextual information about your surroundings. For instance, pointing the camera at a restaurant will display its operating hours and reviews. It also offers text-to-speech functionality, detects phone numbers and addresses, and enables users to copy or summarise text. The feature allows users to search for specific items and find out more information via ChatGPT. Apple plans to expand this feature in the future.
Advanced writing tools: The Writing Tools feature is being enhanced to allow more flexible edits. In iOS 18.1, the tool can adjust tone to friendly, professional, or simplified versions. With iOS 18.2, users will be able to describe more specific content changes, such as turning an email into a poem or adding action words to text.iOS 18.2Kaagaz 2 on OTT: Where to stream Anupam Kher’s courtroom drama film online?
