– Fahad Ahmed, representing the Sharad Pawar-led NCP faction, is currently trailing Sana Malik, the Ajit Pawar-led NCP candidate, by over 3,000 votes as counting enters its final stages in Mumbai’s Anushakti Nagar constituency.
Ahmed’s wife, TV actress Swara Bhasker, raised concerns on social media platform X, alleging irregularities during the counting process. Bhasker claimed Ahmed had maintained a steady lead until rounds 17, 18, and 19 when Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) with unusually high battery charges were introduced.
She wrote, “In Anushakti Nagar Vidhan Sabha, after a steady lead by Fahad Zirar Ahmad of NCP-SP… in rounds 17, 18, and 19, suddenly 99% battery charger EVMs are opened, and the BJP-supported NCP-Ajit Pawar candidate takes the lead.” Bhasker questioned the anomaly, asking, “How can machines that have been voted on all day long have 99% charged batteries? Why do all 99% charged batteries give votes to BJP and its allies?” She also tagged the Election Commission and key leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi in her post.
