Tamil Nadu: 85 Hospitalised After Consuming Food At Temple Festival, Suspected Food Poisoning

Tamil Nadu:At least 85 people have been hospitalised in Madurai following a suspected case of food poisoning after they consumed food served during a temple festival in Tamil Nadu’s Virudhunagar district.
According to officials from the Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai, all the patients are currently in stable condition. Several others experiencing similar symptoms have been admitted to various hospitals in Virudhunagar as well. Health authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the outbreak.
The incident reportedly occurred during a temple celebration held two days ago in a village in Virudhunagar district. As part of the festivities, food including fish procured from Manamadurai was served to attendees. Officials believe the contaminated food might be the source of the illness as per TOI.
Tamil Nadu:Alongside food samples, health officials are also examining the water quality in the village, particularly from the overhead tank, to rule out any waterborne causes. Authorities are awaiting the test results to confirm the source of contamination and to take necessary preventive measures.
