KKR vs RCB: Fan touching Virat Kohli’s feet after breaching security arrested

KKR vs RCB:A fan who breached security to meet Virat Kohli during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 opener on Saturday, March 23, has been arrested.
During the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, the fan was seen running toward Kohli and touching the legendary batter’s feet.
The fan, overjoyed, also hugged Kohli, the leading run-scorer in IPL history. Security personnel quickly intervened and escorted the fan out of the stadium. The video of the fan running onto the field to interact with Kohli also went viral on social media platforms.

Kohli was at his very best, and he helpedRCB beat the Knight Riders by seven wickets. The 36-year-old came into the tournament on the back of a couple of excellent knocks against Pakistan and Australia in the Champions Trophy 2025.
Against KKR, Kohli was at his very best as RCB chased down a target of 175 with 22 balls to spare. The veteran made an impact with the bat, scoring his half-century off 30 deliveries. Kohli and Phil Salt laid the platform for RCB in their run-chase after putting on a partnership of 95 runs for the opening wicket off 8.3 overs.

The Delhi-born Kohli stayed until the very end and made sure that RCB didn’t have many hiccups in their run-chase. Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal put on 44 runs for the third wicket, taking RCB closer to the target.
Kohli made sure that RCB ceased their four-match losing streak against the Knight Riders. He won the Orange Cap last season and carried on from where he left off in 2024.
