“No Politician Should Visit Until Justice Is Served”: Father’s Anger Erupts After Minor’s Rape and Murder in Pune

In a shocking case from Pune, the father of a four-year-old girl who was brutally raped and murdered has made an emotional appeal, demanding justice for his daughter. He urged political leaders not to visit his home to offer condolences until justice is delivered and the accused is awarded the death penalty.
The grieving father said he had been informed by relatives and friends that several politicians were planning to visit his home. He stated, “On behalf of my family, I request that no political leader come to meet us until my daughter gets justice and the accused is sentenced to death.”
The horrific incident has triggered widespread outrage in the Bhor area of Pune, where hundreds of villagers staged protests demanding strict action. Opposition leaders have also strongly condemned the incident, targeting the state government over concerns about law and order.
Police have arrested a 65-year-old आरोपी, who reportedly has a prior criminal record, in connection with the case.
Government Assures Strict Action
Devendra Fadnavis, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, assured that the government will seek the death penalty for the accused. He stated that the case will be heard in a fast-track court to ensure swift justice. The Chief Minister also said he has spoken to the victim’s family and assured them of full support from the government.
Protests and Highway Blockade
Public anger intensified as protesters blocked the Mumbai–Bengaluru Highway on Saturday, disrupting traffic for nearly four hours. Family members and demonstrators placed the victim’s body on the road near Navale Bridge, demanding the harshest punishment for the accused.
Accused Lured Victim, Had Criminal History
According to police investigations, the accused, a laborer with a criminal background, allegedly lured the child with the promise of food and took her to a cattle shed. There, he sexually assaulted and murdered her.
During the search operation, relatives reviewed CCTV footage from a nearby house, which showed the accused with the child. This evidence led to his arrest. Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the POCSO Act. The accused has been remanded to police custody until May 7.
