BJP Unveils Tamil Nadu Poll Manifesto: ₹2,000 Monthly Aid for Women, Free LPG Cylinders, ₹10,000 Inflation Relief

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday released its election manifesto for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The announcement was made in the presence of Union Minister J. P. Nadda, state BJP president Nainar Nagendran, party leader K. Annamalai, and Tamilisai Soundararajan.

Speaking at the event, Nadda said the party made a thoughtful decision to release its manifesto on the occasion of the Tamil New Year.

Key Promises in BJP Manifesto

In its manifesto, the BJP has made several welfare promises aimed at easing the financial burden on households:

  • ₹2,000 per month for women heads of families

  • Three free LPG cylinders annually

  • One-time financial assistance of ₹10,000 to every household to offset inflation

The party has also proposed a subsidy of ₹25,000 for eligible women to purchase e-scooters. Additionally, those raising bulls for the traditional sport of Jallikattu will receive ₹2,000 per month as assistance. In case of a participant’s death, an ex-gratia amount of ₹10 lakh has also been promised.

Additional Welfare and Cultural Measures

The manifesto includes a 3% stamp duty concession for women purchasing a house for the first time. It also proposes continued support measures such as a one-time domestic assistance of ₹10,000 and coupons worth ₹8,000 for household goods.

On the cultural front, the party has suggested reserving two hours daily for local residents to visit major temples. It also pledged to continue traditional rituals like Karthigai Deepam, including lighting lamps atop Tirupparankundram hill.

Nadda Targets DMK Government

On governance and law-and-order issues, Nadda launched a sharp attack on the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government. He alleged a 51% rise in drug-related crimes in Tamil Nadu and criticized the administration over deteriorating law and order.

He further accused the ruling party of corruption and nepotism, citing alleged scams such as “cash-for-jobs” and irregularities in tenders. Labeling the DMK as a “protector of corruption,” Nadda intensified the BJP’s criticism ahead of the elections.
