Breaking: Major NDPS Crackdown, 214 Criminals Arrested in Statewide Operation

Rajasthan Police Target Organized Crime Networks Across 19 Districts

Jaipur: In a massive statewide special operation against organized criminal networks, the Rajasthan Police identified 1,276 criminals across 19 districts, including members linked to the Rohit Godara and Lawrence gangs. A total of 214 accused were arrested, and large quantities of illegal arms, narcotics, vehicles, and electronic devices were seized.

Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma stated that the operation was aimed at ensuring a fear-free environment in the state and dismantling organized crime networks involved in illegal arms possession, extortion, and other serious offenses.

Large-Scale Raids Across Multiple Districts

Early Sunday morning, coordinated cordon-and-search operations were launched in identified districts, including Jaipur and Jodhpur Commissionerates. During the campaign:

  • 383 criminals linked to Rohit Godara and Lawrence gangs were specifically targeted.

  • 534 criminals associated with local gangs were identified.

  • 359 wanted and other category offenders were traced.

Police teams conducted extensive raids at multiple locations and prepared dossiers and interrogation notes for 428 gang members to facilitate further action against organized crime networks.

Arrests and Seizures

Out of the 214 arrested individuals:

  • 11 were wanted criminals,

  • 157 were warrant absconders, and

  • 46 were involved in other criminal activities.

Authorities seized 32 vehicles, 19 mobile phones, and other electronic devices as evidence.

Under the Arms Act, 30 cases were registered. Police recovered:

  • 17 pistols,

  • 3 country-made pistols,

  • 14 cartridges,

  • 6 knives, and

  • 6 daggers.

Major NDPS Recoveries

Under the NDPS Act, 34 cases were registered, leading to the seizure of:

  • 1.166 kg of heroin,

  • 8.544 grams of smack,

  • 5.29 grams of MD,

  • 300 grams of opium,

  • 14.792 kg of marijuana, and

  • 26.08 kg of poppy husk.

Additionally, 8,153 opium plants were destroyed in Jhunjhunu district.

In Hanumangarh, two members of the Bambiha gang were arrested during a checkpoint operation, and 11 pistols along with 22 magazines were recovered. The weapons were reportedly being transported from Indore to Punjab.

In Churu district, a raid at the residence of a hardcore criminal led to the seizure of illegal liquor, financial documents related to 12 banks, and ₹5.30 lakh in cash. A gang member residing abroad was also arrested in the Kuchaman area while allegedly planning a serious crime with an illegal firearm.

Statewide Impact

Operations in Jaipur, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, and Kotputli-Behror resulted in the identification of hundreds of criminals and preparation of multiple dossiers, along with substantial narcotics seizures. Similar large-scale actions in Bikaner, Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, and Churu exposed several NDPS cases involving significant recoveries of heroin and poppy husk.

In Jodhpur city, rural areas, and Phalodi, over 200 criminals were targeted in raids, resulting in arrests and the recovery of illegal narcotics and weapons. In Ajmer, Nagaur, and Didwana-Kuchaman, wanted criminals were apprehended and marijuana along with vehicles were seized.

Action against 119 identified criminals led to multiple Arms Act and NDPS cases, with further recoveries of firearms and narcotics. As a preventive measure, 187 habitual offenders were detained under Section 170 of the BNSS.

DGP Rajeev Kumar Sharma emphasized that the simultaneous statewide operation has significantly weakened organized crime networks. The Rajasthan Police will continue sustained action against criminal gangs to maintain law and order and ensure public safety.
