Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed bowled a stunning delivery in the 18th over of the Group A match in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 which dismissed Shubman Gill.The ball was so remarkable that even Virat Kohli, standing at the non-striker’s end, couldn’t hide his admiration. As Shubman Gill’s stumps went flying Abrar gestured towards the pavilion, signalling the end of batter’s innings.
The 5th match of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 was played between India and Pakistan. Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and elected to bowl first. Pakistan team scored 241 runs while batting first. The Indian team chased the target of 242 runs by 6 wickets. India’s bowlers set the tone early, with a disciplined effort that kept Pakistan on the back foot. Virat Kohli was the star of the show as he hit a brilliant century and led India towards a dashing win.
Though Mohammed Shami struggled with control in his opening spell, Hardik Pandya delivered a superb six-over spell, including the crucial wicket of Babar Azam. The partnership between Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel was steady, as they stitched a century stand for the third wicket. However, the duo remained cautious against some tight bowling. Despite being dropped twice, they couldn’t capitalize on the opportunities. Pakistan’s innings faltered quickly as they lost three wickets in quick succession. Kuldeep Yadav’s brilliant spell in the final 10 overs, where he claimed three wickets, prevented Pakistan from accelerating and put India in control.
