No Lockdown in India: PM Modi Reassures States Amid Global Concerns

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it clear that there are currently no plans to impose a nationwide lockdown in India. During a crucial meeting with Chief Ministers from across the country, he assured states that the situation is being closely monitored and necessary measures are being taken as required.
The meeting also included discussions on global developments, particularly rising tensions in the Middle East and their potential impact. The Prime Minister urged states to remain alert and work in coordination rather than panic.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining the supply of essential commodities, especially fuel and gas, to avoid any disruption. Stressing cooperative governance, he highlighted that effective coordination between the central and state governments is key to tackling any emerging challenges.
PM Modi also cautioned against the spread of misinformation and urged state leaders to ensure that accurate information reaches the public. He advised them to strengthen preparedness and remain ready to handle any emergency situation, but reiterated that strict measures like a lockdown are not required at this stage.
