Amit Shah to Lead BJP Roadshows in Tamil Nadu Today Ahead of Final Poll Phase

Central Home Minister Amit Shah is set to lead multiple high-profile roadshows in Tamil Nadu on Sunday, April 19, as part of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s campaign push in the crucial final phase of the Assembly elections. His visit comes as the party intensifies efforts to strengthen its presence in key constituencies ahead of polling scheduled for April 23.
Shah will begin his campaign in Erode district’s Modakurichi Assembly constituency with a roadshow in support of BJP candidate Kirthika Shivakumar. The western region of the state is considered strategically important, and the party leadership is focusing on direct voter outreach in the area.
Later in the day, Shah will travel to Chennai to lead another major roadshow in support of BJP candidate Tamilisai Soundararajan. As part of his visit to the city, he is also expected to offer prayers at the Kapaleeshwarar Temple in Mylapore before the रोड शो.
Senior BJP leaders said the objective of these roadshows is to energize party workers and mobilize voters across both western and northern Tamil Nadu. A party functionary noted that the focus is on directly connecting with voters and consolidating support in the final stretch of campaigning.
The visit is part of a broader push by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), with top leaders ramping up campaign activities across the state. Meanwhile, in view of these high-profile events, Coimbatore city police have implemented extensive security measures and traffic diversions.
As the campaign enters its final phase, the BJP is relying on large-scale outreach efforts and the presence of senior leaders like Amit Shah to maximize its electoral prospects in the state.
